I have a lot of respect for Wes Craven
he reinvented Horror flicks with Freddy. What can be more frightening than a slasher killing in dreams since when you're younger you're already scared to go to bed after seeing an horror flick

And as much as I disliked Scream 2 and 3, SCREAM was a hell of a movie

That's a tough one..I probably would have to go back a ways..Hmm..Ah.
1. "Psycho"
A Hitchcock masterpiece of Horror. I find the subtle criminally insane far more frightening than most of the over the top gore type stuff.
Less is more. The black and white film didn't hurt either.
2. "The Omen" the only "devil/possesion" type film to ever make me really uncomfortable.
3. "Night of the Hunter"
Again, I saw this as a kid and Bob Mitchum was brilliant as a murdering preacher after a couple of kids. "Children???!" [img]eek.gif[/img]
Runner up.."Night of the Living Dead" the original B&W really worked in this rather low budget thriller about the dead come back to life.
Damned creepy film.
